Hi all!!!
So back in April I applied for the Spellbinders Design Team and imagine my reaction when I received an email saying that I had made it through to the second round of the team!!! Now this call is world wide and I had made it to the top 37!!!!!
So making it through to the second round, we were all asked to create a specific project, I was asked to create a mixed media project and I also had to video the process!!!
Wow so I had never created a video before so I had to work on that as well create something that I am not used to creating on top of that!!
I am not going to share the video with you but instead I will share some photos of what I created...I decided to create a mixed media canvas and set to work with lots of different techniques to create some texture...
This is the finished canvas..
I started off by using some Mod Podge and adhering
a scrunched up dress makers pattern...
I then applied a generous amount of Gesso to change the colour
of the dress makers pattern and for the mists to have
something to absorb into...
I used a mixture of mists including Maya Mist, Dylusions
and Mister Huey's
I started with red, then yellow....
I sprayed blue next and obviously because it ran
into the yellow I got some green....
I then repeated the same colours out to the edge...
Using some texture paste, I used a Pink Paislee
mask for some textured shapes...
I then outlined these shapes with my black pen....
I also used stamps and bubble wrap with some
white paint for some different looks...
Then I started to add lots of different elements like
chipboard, sequins, wood fibres, patterned paper etc
I also added a Prima flower, some hessian and
a cute Greatest View flair...
I of course used some Spellbinders dies, cutting out an
eyelet circle and a large scalloped border but used the negative pieces...
I unfortunately didn't make it through after this round but I was extremely happy with what I created, my awesomely talented and good friend Beck Beattie was lucky enough to make it through though and she is off to the US this week all expenses paid for a week...lucky thing!!
Thanks for stopping by and for any love you leave....
happy creating..
