Smile | CUT to YOU

 Hi crafty friends,

Today I am back with you to share a new design team layout created for CUT to YOU to fit with the black cut file theme for this week over on their blog!

When I think of black cut files, I immediately think to create a boy page which is exactly what I did! I love how the black Circle Eights cut file pops off the white cardstock background. I also love the bright colours from the patterned papers that I added behind the cut file.

There are so many awesome ideas you can create with this cut file. Another idea you could try is to back the individual circles with patterned papers for a different look. You could also cut a few smaller ones and have them scattered all over the page too!

I decided to cut out the Circle Eights design fairly large so that it took up most of the room on the page. Once I had backed all of the segments in the circle, I added craft foam to the under side and adhered it to the white cardstock background. I love the shadows and dimension this creates.

I didn't want to cover too much of the design however I knew that I would be placing my photo, title and embellishments on top so I kept the photo fairly small and placed most embellishments centering around my photo.I added 2 flair buttons to this page, the one on the left side fit in the circle of the cut file design perfectly! One thing I like to do when I have a bright and busy background is to may my photo with white cardstock or to print it out with a white border. This helps to make my photo stand out from the busy background rather than get lost amongst the colour.
