We're All Going On A Summer Holiday | Bramble Fox

Hi creative friends! 

When you think of Summer, what do you think of? I think of sun and water and this bright and colourful summer layout captures both of them perfectly. Featuring the fabulous XL Summer perspextive title by Bramble Fox teamed with the Sunkissed collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio celebrates some beautiful holiday memories, and I wanted the design to capture all the warmth, colour and happiness of sunny days spent by the water.

The brilliant blues in my photos worked perfectly with the orange XL Summer title, vibrant florals, sunshine motifs and fruity embellishments, making it easy to create a fun summer-themed page.

To begin, I created two vertical photo strips using multiple smaller photos rather than one large image. I matted each strip with white cardstock and added rainbow striped papers underneath. This helped the photos stand out while also tying them into the overall design.

Behind the photo strips, I layered several pieces of patterned paper horizontally in a stepped arrangement. I chose the rich blue patterned paper to echo the water in the photos and provide contrast against the bright embellishments. The horizontal layering helps ground the design while adding texture and interest without overwhelming the page.

The title area became the focal point of the page thanks to the amazing XL Summer title. The bold acrylic title adds fantastic dimension and instantly draws the eye. To complement it, I tucked the colourful "Fun in the Sun" ephemera piece above the title, creating a layered title cluster that perfectly captures the carefree feeling of a summer getaway. Over the top of the XL Summer perspextive title, I layered some phrase stickers so my full title reads, 'We're All Going On A Summer Holiday'.

Next I clustered a variety of fussy-cut florals, leaves, fruit slices and sunshine elements around the top and bottom of the photo strips. These clusters frame the photos beautifully and create movement across the layout. I love how the florals soften the strong geometric lines created by the photo strips and paper layers.

To finish the layout, I added a few smaller embellishments, including a tropical drink, hearts and phrase stickers, along with the date to document the memory. These little details help tell the story while filling the white space and balancing the design.

I absolutely love how this page came together. The combination of Cocoa Vanilla Studio's cheerful Sunkissed collection and Bramble Fox's statement XL Summer perspextive title creates the perfect backdrop for documenting sunny adventures and holiday memories.
