Hi creative friends,
Today I am sharing a new Christmas themed layout created for CUT to YOU featuring the awesome Christmas Joy cut file. I cut the entire design out from white cardstock and then backed the design with a red patterned paper to help it pop. While I was backing the cut file design, I decided to cut it down so that only half of the cut file would be used.
I adhered the cut file to the bottom half of the plain white cardstock background using craft foam to lift it up from the background. Above the cut file design, I adhered my photo also using craft foam. I layered a grey coloured paper doily and a tag here also. On the right of my photo, I added another smaller tag. I trimmed down the white cardstock and then placed some phrases top and bottom. I then backed the entire white cardstock background to a black patterned paper from the Christmas collection I chose for this layout.
You can see in the detail photos the shadows created on the page by using craft foam underneath the cut file. I love how this looks and gives lots of dimension. I included some embellishments on top of the cut file design, including the super cute wood veneer reindeer with the enamel dot red nose, some more enamel dots in various colours, a wood veneer star, a black fabric bow and 2 gorgeous flair buttons that matched the theme and colours perfectly and some phrase die-cuts.
I love title cut file designs like the Christmas Joy one as they take all the guess work out of choosing a title and because they take up lots of room on the page, you only have so many choices where to add your photo and embellishments which in my opinion makes creating quicker!
