My 2012-2013 Masters Journey Part 1.....

Hello lovely ladies!!!
So it has now come to the time when I can share my Scrapbooking Memories Masters entry projects with you all!!!! Even though you would have most probably seen them in the magazine, I have different angles and   detail photos of them.
The first project I am sharing is going to be my canvas......the criteria for this project was to use a canvas at exactly a 12 x 12 inch size and they wanted to see textures created on it.

So I went to town with different textures!!! I started off with a dress makers pattern all scrunched up and applied different coloured paints, mists and gesso!!

I knew I wanted to do a 'Create' type canvas and so I pulled out my ever growing stash of vintage haberdashery!! I added even more texture by using a paper doily, corrugated cardboard, a vintage crocheted doily, hessian hand cut into a heart, a vintage book page cut into a heart and inked up to make it look even older then hand sewn to the hessian. Other items added to create the look was chipboard, buttons, lace, wood shavings, metal embellishments, flowers...I could go on all day LOL!!!!!

I decided to give a technique that I had seen on Pinterest a try and that was to print your text onto hessian/burlap. I ironed on some transfer paper to the back of the hessian and this made it stiff enough to be able to be fed into my printer, now I am lucky mine didn't snag but this can happen so be careful!! I loved how this turned out and felt it added just the right touch.....

 Another detail shot.....

So there you have it, my first share of one of my 4 Masters entries...stay tuned for the next three that will be coming soon to you!!
I hope I have inspired you to get creative, thank you so so much for stopping by my blog today....take care everyone and happy scrappin!!!

Oh Tarrah cool, love seeing different closeups and thing we don't see in the mag like the printing on hesian, sounds tricky but adds great texture. Look forward to seeing your other projects. I found it fun sharing my first project. Cheers.
